Rod Karr, Gallup, on Leadership

Written by Greg Krieser on October 29th, 2008

Rod Karr, GallupOn October 29, 2008 I had an opportunity to sit down and talk with Rod Karr from Gallup on his views of leadership. Rod is a Senior Seminar Leader for Gallup in Omaha, Nebraska. With an extensive training background in leadership principles and theories, Rod provides some excellent insight on leadership. Listen to our conversation and hear the “master story teller” at work (each has leadership learning behind them).

Here are some of Rod’s favorite quotes:

“The buck stops here!”
Harry S. Truman – a great leadership principle

“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”
Mark Twain – oh so true

He mentioned the Gallup MBA Leadership program, more information can be found here: http://www.gallup.com/university/1399/Gallup-University.aspx

Here are some of the books Rod is currently reading:

Nixonland: The Rise of a President and the Fracturing of America
by Rick Perlstein

Robert Ludlum’s (TM) The Bourne Sanction
